Most of these pictures and obits were found in a photo album belonging to Annalene (Hervey) Callander. Some were from clippings found in Bibles belonging to Elizabeth (Johnston) Young or Sara (Young) Hervey L'Hommedieu.

Aunt Annalene

Annalene Elizabeth Hervey

(Sara Pluma, Alfred Gilmore, Joseph Walker, Joseph, John, Joseph)
Daughter of Sara Pluma Young and John Nelson Hervey
Concert pianist and blind in one eye from birth. She was raised by her Grandmother, Elizabeth Johnston Young, after her mother remarried and moved to California. We owe her a debt of gratitude for all her photo albums, scrapbooks, and family memorabilia that she saved for our future benefit. Annalene married twice, (1) Ed Harper, (2) Carl Callander. She had no children of her own, which might explain her interest in the children of her sister, brother and cousins. She attended the Pittsburgh School for the Blind and could read and write Braile. She died in El Centro, California from the complications of Alzheimer's. She was a fantastic woman, full of life, lots of fun to be around, extremely smart and incredibly talented musically, like her mother. Anyone who knew Annalene loved her.
