Crawford Journal, 3-20-1890, p.5;5: WAELDE-In Youngstown, Ohio, March 16th,
Fred Waelde, Sr., formerly of Meadville. Deceased was the father of Mrs. Geo.
Fries and Mrs. John Marhofer, of this city.
Evening Republican 3-17-1890, p. 4;2: Fred Waelde, Sr., formerly of this city,,
died Sunday afternoon at his home in Youngstown, O. The remains will be
brought to Meadville and interred in Greendale cemetery. Friends of the
family are invited to attend the funeral which will take place from the
residence of John Marhofer, 251 Pine Street at 2 o'clock p.m., Tuesday
March 18. Deceased was the father of Mrs. Geo. Fries and Mrs. John
Marhofer, of this city. A daughter lives at Denver, Col., and another at
San Jose, Cal.

ESTATE: Exemplification of Will for Frederick Waelde of Youngstown, registered
Crawford County, PA Will Book Q, p. 288 reads:
In the Name of the benevolent Father of All.
I, Frederick Waelde of the City of Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio, being now
of sound mind and disposing memory do make and publish this my last Will and
Testament: Item First. I direct that all of my just debts and funeral expenses
and expenses of my last sickness be first paid. Item Second. I Will, devise and
bequeath unto my beloved wife Pauline Waelde for and during her natural life
the
house and lot on which I now live, the same being the West part of City Lot
Number Fifteen hundred and Thirty seven. And at her death said house and lot
to
be the property of my son George Waelde, and I will and direct that my executor
hereafter named or whoever executes this will execute and deliver a deed for
said property as herein provided. Item Third. I will, devise and bequeath unto
my beloved wife Pauline Waelde the East part of siad lot No. 1537 to be hers,
her heirs and assigns forever, said portion of said Lot 1537 hereby bequeathed
to my said wife fronting on Federal Street about 87 feet and the remainder of
said lot no 1537 which is bequeathed by Item Second fronts on Federal Street
about 50 feet, and said portions of said lot are subject to an Alleyway of
reasonable width, to be taken in equal portions from said parcels of said lot
and I direct the person who administers my estate to execute and deliver proper
deeds as herein provided. Item Fourth. I will, devise and bequeath unto my
grandchildren Clara Waelde and Frank Waelde, children of my son J.F. Waelde,
deceased, $200.00 each. Item Fifth. I will, devise and bequeath the sum of
$1200.00 to each of my following named children, Lizzie Marhofer of Meadville,
Pennsylvania, Ella Fries of said town of Meadville, Sophia Peiffle alias Sophia
Patter of St. Joe California, and Emma Peiffle, alias Patter of Denver,
Colorado, and I direct my executor to pay said amount to said persons. Item
Sixth. I will, devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Pauline Waelde all the
rest and residue of my property whatever and wherever the same may be, to be
hers, her heirs and assigns forever. Item Seventh. I hereby nominate and appoint
John Marhofer of 251 Pine Street, Meadville, Pennsylvania as my executor and
I
request the Court to appoint said John Marhofer executor of this my last Will
and Testament, with full power to execute the provisions of this will. Item
Eight. I hereby revoke all other Wills by me made. (Signed) 8 Mar 1889.
