Josiah Smith, in February 1776. After the Battle of Long Island he was a
Refugee to Connecticut.

He is named in an agreement concerning lands in Aquebogue, between his brother
Benjamin and their mother, Mary and sold his share of lands in Southold to his
brother Benjamin.

He moved from Long Island to Connecticut and purchased a farm in the Horse
Hill District of Westbrook.
