of enlistment and ending May 1, 1776.
CENSUS: 1776 Southold, Long Island; 1790 Southold
WILL: on file Surrogate's Office, Riverhead, L.I., Liber D, page 170, dated
June 22, 1810 and proved November 12, 1818. Bequeaths eight acres of land to
his sons Benjamin and his wife, and makes bequest to their son Lester; bequests
to his son Samuel, his two sons, Samuel and Joseph and daughter Jemima; bequest
to son Daniel.
OCCUPATION: In Letters of Administration of the estate of father of 2nd wife
Benjamin Thompson he is described as Blacksmith, in Probate of his own Will he
is described as a Farmer.
Executor of the Will of his brother-in-law, Purrier Reeves, in conjunction with
Mary Reeves, the wife.
In 1765 land in Southold was deeded to Benjamin L'Hommedieu by J. Clews Symmes,
and on May 5, 1781, land in Southold by Thomas Conkling.
On June 29, 1798, Benjamin deeded to his son, Samuel L'Hommedieu, for
seventy-seven pounds, 32 acres of land in Riverhead. He was married to Jemima
THOMPSON on 13 Apr 1762 in Southold, Suffolk, NY. Jemima
THOMPSON was born in 1735. She died on 9 Jul 1807 in Southold, Suffolk,
NY. She was buried in , Aquebogue, Suffolk, NY. She has reference number L1A0L5.
