JOHNSTON - Mrs. Deborah Johnston, widow of John Johnston, formerly of Jenners,
Somerset County, died at home of her daughter, Mrs. Harvey Black, on Market
Street Wednesday, August 3, 1898, aged 79 years, 1 month, 12 days. Funeral took
place on Friday. Interment at U.B. Cemetery near Jenners. She had been a member
of this church for more than 40 years.

John JOHNSTON died in 1876 in Ligonier, Westmoreland, PA. Deborah GRIFFITH and John JOHNSTON had the following children:

Dec. 1989 states that:

Deborah Griffith married to John Johnston, died 1876,
John and Deborah's daughter, Rebecca, married Harvey Black of Ligonier
Boro., Westmoreland Co., PA. Richard Rupert's wife (whose name he does not give
in the letter) was raised on the site of their home and shop.

New information received from Rick Rupert in Oct. 1992 gives birth and death
dates, children and other comments.

Rick speculates that Irene Johnston, born 16 Apr 1881 may have been Rebecca's
child before marriage and the father may have been a DENNY of Denny Flats.
