ESTATE: WILL, dated 2 May 1838, proved 8 June 1838, reads:
The last will and testament of Daniel Reighart of Jenner Township Somerset
county. In the name of God I Daniel Reighart considering the uncertainty of
this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory (blessed by Almighty God
for the same) do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and
form following (that is to say) just my wish is that my wife Sarah is to remain
on the place with the children as long as she shall live providing she shall
remain my widow be it understood that she is to have the privilege of the house
so long as she lives. Second, I give and bequeth unto my beloved wife all my
personal estate as long as she remains my widow. Third, I give and bequeath unto
my sone Abner Reighart the west end of the place the new road to be the line.
Fourth, I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Mary Ann Reighart, the residue of
the original tract including the twenty three acres adjoining lands of the
widow Griffith., Mathew Hair and others. My will is that Abner and Mary Ann is
to pay out of their portion to my younger daughter Nancy Reighart to make her
equal so that they all have share and share alike. My wife Sarah is to have the
ishews and prophets arising of the place to go towards maintaining her and the
minor children until of age. And lastly I hereby constitute and appoint John O.
Griffith my Executor and my wife Sarah Reighart my Executrix of this my last
will and testament hereby revoking all former will by me made in --?-- Whreof I
have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of May in the year of our
Lord 1838. WITNESSES: Abner Griffith, George Piper, John Ankney. Sarah GRIFFITH and Daniel REIGHART had the following children:
