Martha was baptized at the South Avenue Methodist Church in Wilkinsburg, but
was confirmed and took her first Holy Communion at the Beulah Presbyterian
Church in Churchill. She attended the Churchill area schools (now Woodland
Hills School District, K-12, graduating in 1971. She attended Grove City
College, Grove City, PA, from 1971-1975, graduating with a degree in Business
Administration. She was a member of Gamma Chi Sorority and Angel Flight
(auxiliary to AFROTC program). Two weeks after college, Martha began her career
with the Campbell Soup Company in sales, covering the territory from Western
Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio. She was the first woman in Pittsburgh in
sales for Campbells. In 1981, Martha took a position in sales with the Johnson
and Johnson Company and remained with them until after her marriage in 1987.
From 1990 until 1993, Martha and Bernie were maintaining dual residency between
their home in Churchill and first in Dallas, and then in Chicago, due to
Bernie's employment.

She was married to Bernard Joseph ADAMS on 3 Oct 1987 in St. Bernard Ch., Pittsburgh, Allegheny, PA. Bernard Joseph ADAMS was born on 8 Jan 1960 in St. Francis Hosp, Pittsburgh, Allegheny, PA. BIRTH: Birth Certificate, State of PA, County of Allegheny, File #0000800-60.
